Wood You of Columbus is family owned and operated by the original founders of the chain of stores known as Wood You Furniture. Wood You started in Jacksonville, Fl, in 1977, in a 10 x 10 metal shed behind the mobile home of a couple of newlyweds named Al and Barbara Johnston.

Travis, the Johnston's oldest son, currently manages this store. Travis has worked in Wood You stores since he was old enough to use hand tools and is now in his 9th year as a store manager. Needless to say, the knowledge of real wood furniture runs deep in this family.

Even though Wood You consumes a great deal of Travis' time, you can many times find him, in the evenings, at his daughters T-Ball or soccer games. Travis comes from a family of sports fanatics and car buffs. Travis was a first team All American placekicker in 2003 at the University of North Alabama and is, also, really into classic cars. He drives a Dodge Magnum HEMI/RT but his pride and joy is his 1971 Cuda 340. If you are in the area then just drop in and talk real wood furniture or any other topic that might interest you.

The Johnstons are avid Auburn fans but three of their four kids happened to go astray and married "rivals". One married a Florida Gator, one a Tennessee Volunteer and the other married a Notre Dame fan. But Travis was true to his calling and married an Auburn Tiger girl.

Located in growing east central Georgia we serve customers from Atlanta, Newnan, Lagrange, and Albany along with our neighbors in Smith Station, Eufaula, Phenix City and Ft. Mitchell, Alabama.

Wood You of Columbus is one of four stores owned by the Johnston family and is known as a Concept 31 Wood You store. Concept31 stores don't have special signage or banners shouting we are a Concept31 store but as soon as you enter the store you'll realize you have entered an unfinished store unlike any you've ever seen.
